Today is Blue Monday hosted by Sally @ Smiling Sally's Blog. Thank you Sally for hosting Blue Monday every week. It is much fun!
This week I want to show you a couple of Blue Transferware I picked up a few months ago at an Antique/Flea Market place. (Same place I bought the chandelier for my kitchen.)
This week I want to show you a couple of Blue Transferware I picked up a few months ago at an Antique/Flea Market place. (Same place I bought the chandelier for my kitchen.)
I originally bought the plates for my future China Garden. And also for the hangers that were attached. I think I only paid a 1 or 2 dollars for each plate. I was looking for attractive, inexpensive, even chipped plates for the China Garden. When I got them home, I decided I liked them too much and that they would look great hanging on the kitchen wall.
They are stoneware and there is no stamp or mark on the back of them.
The dinner plate is only about 10 inches wide. Here yu can see how much smaller this dinner plate is compared to my everyday stoneware. The small size makes me think it is old.I bought a couple of bread plates as well. Some of the transferware pattern was smudged when it was placed on the plate before firing/processing. If anyone has any idea of the history of the pattern/stoneware, I would appreciate knowing.
Thank you for visiting my blog today. To see more great Blue Monday posts or to participate in Blue Monday, please stop by Sally's blog by clicking HERE.
Have a great day!

Happy Blue Monday!
Loving your blue and white china! It's my favorite!
XO,

Love them. I may have to go antiquing myself some day.

The first disheds my parents bought when they married were Blue Willow. None of them are left except the creamer, which I have.
Have a great week!
What great finds!!
Hi Melissa! Oh, now I truly love your olden dishes. The pattern is called "Blue Willow". This was such a popular pattern way back that almost all companies made it. This pattern can be seen in old westerns. I have a set of Blue Willow, it's not as old as yours, but I truly love it.
Oh, you're the most fit one, with all your exercising and all. I had a friend whose husband passed away and in order to work thru her grief she decided she would train to 'walk' the marathon. She trained for about a year and then walked the Houston Marathon! I was so proud of her. She had some gals who went with her and she did it!
Now I'm a good cheerleader and supporter! lol
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
I collect Blue Willow and love your pieces. I have both old and new. It's amazing the difference in the shapes and sizes of the plates. I'd love to hear more about your China garden. Happy Blue Monday!

Those are beautiful plates! How neat that they were so inexpensive and already had the plate hangers on them! Happy Blue Monday!

It looks like Blue Willow. The pattern has been made for a very long time and you can still buy it new today, like I did a few years ago! Beautiful finds.
