This week I want to show you a couple of Blue Transferware I picked up a few months ago at an Antique/Flea Market place. (Same place I bought the chandelier for my kitchen.)
This week I want to show you a couple of Blue Transferware I picked up a few months ago at an Antique/Flea Market place. (Same place I bought the chandelier for my kitchen.)
I originally bought the plates for my future China Garden. And also for the hangers that were attached. I think I only paid a 1 or 2 dollars for each plate. I was looking for attractive, inexpensive, even chipped plates for the China Garden. When I got them home, I decided I liked them too much and that they would look great hanging on the kitchen wall.
They are stoneware and there is no stamp or mark on the back of them.

The first disheds my parents bought when they married were Blue Willow. None of them are left except the creamer, which I have.

Hi Melissa! Oh, now I truly love your olden dishes. The pattern is called "Blue Willow". This was such a popular pattern way back that almost all companies made it. This pattern can be seen in old westerns. I have a set of Blue Willow, it's not as old as yours, but I truly love it.
Oh, you're the most fit one, with all your exercising and all. I had a friend whose husband passed away and in order to work thru her grief she decided she would train to 'walk' the marathon. She trained for about a year and then walked the Houston Marathon! I was so proud of her. She had some gals who went with her and she did it!
Now I'm a good cheerleader and supporter! lol

I collect Blue Willow and love your pieces. I have both old and new. It's amazing the difference in the shapes and sizes of the plates. I'd love to hear more about your China garden. Happy Blue Monday!

Oh yes... you need Blue Willow on the wall not in the garden...... I get most of my outside china from garage sales.... those do look old.... I have a children's book with the blue willow story.... i do so love it..

Very pretty...and I love the homey touch that plates on the wall add. I've got some haning in several rooms and they always make me smile...not to mention they make really inexpensive wall art! These are real beautites!

It looks like Blue Willow. The pattern has been made for a very long time and you can still buy it new today, like I did a few years ago! Beautiful finds.

Melissa, I've been wanting to come visit you for awhile now! Thanks for your visits to Catherine de th`e Cups and your sweet comments. I love the B/White Monday post, I also collect B/White..many varied patterns. I have one identical to this and it's imprinted with "Churchill" and stamped England.
