Blue Monday

A couple of weeks ago, on the road coming home from Smocking Arts Guild Convention in Atlanta, I had a few bucks still in my pocket, burning a hole, no child or husband in the car or expecting me home to cook supper and feed them... :-D I looked for a Antique Store/Flea Market. And I found one!

It was in Leeds, AL, really not far from where I live. About 30-45 minutes if I am not speeding and interstate all the way. I pulled over and stayed until they closed. And yes, my cell did go off while I was there, DH wondering when/if I was coming home... (I think they missed me. I have been gone for almost a whole week!)

I love blue, blue & white, blue & white & yellow. I saw this shelf and it was all I could do to resist! I wanted to buy everything on the shelf, but I didn't. I did however, take a photo for Sally's Blue Monday. Many pretties and though I had not yet participated I wanted to start collecting pictures.

I also found this pretty blue chandi. Fell in love with it and took a photo of it too!

This is my first time to participate in Blue Monday. To find out more about Blue Monday, go to Smiling Sally's Blog to read and participate. Happy Blue Monday and thank you Sally for hosting!

Good Morning Miz Melissa,
I learned the very basics of smocking a few weeks ago but haven't had a chance to practice. I thought of you and all your lovely pieces you posted for me to see. You do such beautiful work but I fear I'll never get the hang of it. Sounds like you had a great time at your convention. Loving the blue pictures!

You really found a great place to shop. I love all of the blue. I could have spent a day looking at all of the "pretties." The picture that is kind of hiding is lovely. Happy Blue Monday.

Hi Melissa, your stop at the store was worth a couple of great photos to share for Blue Monday. I love it all. I do not use much blue except in the cabin guestroom. I love yellow with blue and I always thought A blue and yellow kitchen would be awesome. Somehow I never got past my love of green. Nice post and story.

Hugs, Jeanne

I would have wanted to buy everything too!
I never went to a SAGA national convention, but did go to regional ones years ago. Our guild disbanded and I don't know of another near me, but I did enjoy it while it lasted.

I passed through Leeds many years ago, but couldn't stop there (I was driving a U-Haul truck with my dogs in the front seat). I don't remember much about it other than stopping and getting a photo of the pooches looking out the window of the truck. (Wonder where that got to?)

In any case, none of this stuff would survive for very long at my house. (I collect things that won't break. Hockey pucks, stuff like that!)

Nice stuff you found here though...

Hi Missy,

Lovely blue and white goodies. That chandelier is to die for!!!

Thanks for your kind comments on my blog. So far, I have quilted all my quilts and projects on my 'Nina... this queen size quilt I am working is scaring me a little bit... but I know people have done it, so it is possible... :)

Have a great evening.
