My FIL and MIL took our family out to dinner Friday night. They also presented me with my birthday present (I know it was in Jan, but they have been sick, we get sick, travel, etc... just got around to celebrating....) FIL said he got it from the Smithsonian. I think it is lovely and will make a fine addition to my collection of pots.

What a beautiful gift from the Smithsonian. They have such amazing gifts there. I can just get sucked into their online gift shop so easily. :) Is it really a pot? I was thinking maybe a water pitcher or an urn of some kind. Either way it's a lovely piece.
Melissa,

Hello and Happy Blue Monday! Thank you so much for stopping by and leaving such a sweet comment.
Beautiful pot, happy belated birthday. Most Newfs are black, few are black and white called Landseer and even less are a dark brown. I hope that one you saw gets a good home. Newfs grieve so bad when their families abanden them. They are very loving dogs! It's so sad.
Bless you, Shirl
