A Tag and an Award!

Several months ago, Sweet Robin at My Blessed Nest tagged me. (Actually she tagged me on my business blog, but I have decided to keep in only business and award/tag free so I am posting it here!) I have not been blogging very much. A couple of projects have kept me busy and I have been wanting to make summer fun for DD in my spare time!

I am to tell 6 things about myself and tag 6 more people.
  1. I am a Christian. Accepted the Lord as my Savior when I was 7. I know, young, but that was when I knew I was a sinner and needed to ask Jesus into my heart. My SS teacher followed me to the alter and led me to the Lord. I will never forget it.
  2. I am Baptist. Raised Southern Baptist. The church I go to is part of the Southern Baptist Convention, but is considered Reformed Baptist.
  3. One of my hobbies is teaching exercise classes.
  4. Another hobby is sewing and crafting. I started learning to sew when I was 5. That is started learning... There are no projects around from when I was 5.... They must not have been that good. LOL!
  5. I was a brownie and a girl scout
  6. I am a Freelance Photographer and you will see a link to my business blog over in my right sidebar.
Now to pass this tag onto 6 people. :D
I am looking forward to visiting these fine ladies blogs and seeing what they say about themselves. And the rules are they are to tell 6 things about themselves and pass the tag along to 6 more people! Link back to the tagger's blog and link to the blogs you tag.

Now to show an Award.....

A sweet award from Valerie at It's a Wonderful Life... The Super Comments Award!

I feel very humbled and honored to be given this award, as I have not been much of a commenter of late.
I will pass this award to 6 people/bloggers.
  1. Sally at Smilling Sally's Blog~ She never fails to comment. We could all learn from her. Thank you Sally for all of your encouragement to all of us bloggers!
  2. Kitty at A bit of Fluff~Really Quite Messy ~ So sweet! And in her limited time for blogging, never fails to take the time to say "Hello!"
  3. Nancy at ~Southern Lady~ and a true Southern Lady she is! And never fails to stop by to see what is going on.
  4. Susan at A Southern Daydreamer ~ Runs her own Outdoor Wed Party every week, keep a busy schedule and still manages to speak to all her participants and comments on new posts. (She and Sally are toss ups for Comment Queens!)
  5. Robin at My Blessed Nest ~ Who lives near me and one day, we will get to meet. :-)
  6. C at Primitive Devotion ~ Missed her while she was gone and she is back with us! :-)
And the rules are they are to post the award and who awarded them with a link back to that the awarders blog and pass the blog to 6 other bloggers and link them to the post.

I hope everyone is having a great Thursday and planning on a wonderful weekend! Please take a moment to visit the above blogs, congratulate them and see what they have to say.

Hugs,
Missy

An Award!

I feel like I have been a terrible blogger as of late. Life is getting in the way and I have several projects that are coming up and they will make me even busier! But that is part of life. I miss you all! I am going to take some time to do more than lurk and will be posting to everyone's blog in the next few days.

Also, a month ago, I started Kay Arthur's Isaiah Part I. This is a wonderful Bible Study. If you ever get a chance to take it, do so. You can also take it online. Since I will not be able to go to class tomorrow, I am going to see if I can view the video online. (technology... too kewl!!!)

Speaking of technology & terrific bloggers.... Meet Sweet Susan - A Southern Daydreamer (go check out her blog! it is awesome and she knows how to use a computer! She has decorative thingys in her sidebar that match her blog! And she has been blogging less than 2 months!). Susan just bestowed the Premios Daro Award to me. *Blush* I did look up the meaning of this award....
“The Dardos Award is given for recognition of cultural, ethical, literary, and personal values transmitted in the form of creative and original writing. These stamps were created with the intention of promoting fraternization between bloggers, a way of showing affection and gratitude for work that adds value to the Web.” *Blush*

Now, I am supposed to pass this along to 5 other bloggers....

Sweet Kitty Scraps-A bit of Fluff, Quite Messy Really

Smiling Sally-Smiling Sally's Blog-Susan may have given her this award, but Sally deserves it! She is a faithful blogging friend. :D

Lovely Anya-Hills Creek Quilter

Beautiful Nina-Portugal Bound (She follows my Health and Fitness Blog and is my new email buddy. She is helping my with my girls mission goup - GA's- You Baptists will know what GA's are.)

Beautiful Sharon-Keeper of the Home Sharon encouraged me to start posting to my Health and Fitness Blog again after a time of letting it go almost dormant.

Please go by and visit these ladies blogs. Unlike me, they really fit the discription of this award.

God bless you all today.
Love,
Melissa

Tagged and Awards!

I am now a bathroom Beauty Snapper!!! I earned this lovely award from Shelia from Note Songs. Thank you Sheila. Scroll down a couple of posts to see my what I did to earn the award. :D

I have been Tagged by Valerie from It's a Wonderful Life. She lives in the same area that I live in. We need to meet up for coffee one day.

7 Weird facts about myself:
  1. I tend to be a germafobe, but God has dealt with me about it by giving me a thumb sucker who I have to force to wash her hands and nag constantly about hygiene.
  2. I am a counter that everything has to be symmetrical. When taking photography classes 20 years ago, I had a couple of teachers force me to quit seeing things that way. (Yep, all of my pictures were even.) But it was easy to see what they wanted me to see and I still like balance and everything to be symmetrical. Everything must flow. I teach aerobics and being a counter helps me out there. I must do as many moves on the left side as the right side. If I take a class from someone who does not teach that way it drives me nuts and I fret I will walk out of the class with a lopsided body. Though, technically, that is not the case.
  3. I will be 50 years old next month and I teach aerobic/fitness classes. (Hey, I'm going to be there working out, may as well get paid for it!)
  4. I can still do back bends.
  5. I collect Teapots and Coffeepots.
  6. I teach 4th grade Sunday School-edited to say, it is amazing we (dh and I) have not killed a couple of kids. LOL!!! The boys are a hand full.
  7. I love deep rich reds. (It is easy to decorate for Christmas at my house!) Edited to say that really is not weird. What I should say is.... Since May/June of 2003, I have had major surgery every other year. Sometimes they are two years to the date. DH is already teasing me about what organ/body part will be removed this year. LOL! I say I am taking this year off. :D
Now I am supposed to pass along to 7 other bloggers and include their link in their name. And these are the 7 that I chose to pass the tag along to:
  1. Shelia of Note Songs
  2. Nikki of Blah, Blah, Blah, Blah
  3. Rhoda of Southern Hospitality
  4. Kathy of Kathy's Cottage
  5. Sally of Smiling Sally
  6. Wendy of Ivory Spring
  7. Anya of Hills Creek Quilter
Thank you Shelia and Valerie!

I have some more awards to post. I will get that done in the next couple of days.

Have a blessed day everyone!

Blog Award!

I have been given the sweetest award! Carolyn at Cranberry Crossings has awarded me with the
Photobucket Award! Thank you Carolyn! Carolyn is busy decorating for fall. Please go by her blog and see all the beautiful things she has done.

Now I am supposed to pass this award along to 6 blogs that I love. That will be very hard to do b/c I love and visit so many!

The first two blogs that I will pass the award to I recently teased the ladies about it being their fought that "I'm blogging and I can't stop!" LOL! I love these ladies and have known them for years. Will be seeing one f them in 3 weeks when we meet up at Smocking Arts Guild of America Convention in Atlanta.

1. Martha at Southern Matriarch. Martha is fun loving, crafty and a fine seamstress. If you like embroidery, sewing, etc., check out her site. She has some excellent tutorials for Bullion Embroidery, Eyelets, etc., on her blog. Martha is also making lovely bonnet stands and dress stands. You will see beginnings of them on her blog right now, finished items later on this week.

2. Pam at Sew Gracious. I have known Pam, thru the internet, for years. She also belongs to Smocking Arts Guild of America. Her blog mainly features her lovely bags and accessories that she sells in her Etsy Shop. But she will also post recipes, write about gardening, sewing, crafts, etc.

3. Rhonda at ScooterBlu's Whimsy. Her blog is about her everyday life. It can be about her family, yard sale finds, lake parties, decorating, etc. Her blog is a lot of fun to go see every day.

4. Ramona at A Day in the Life of Ramona. She decorates, recycles, and has a lot of ideas on her site. I enjoy going there. (I am going to use that pine cone & $ store tiny gourd in a glass container she has on her blog. I like it!)

5. Nancy at Southern Lady. And a gracious Southern Lady she is. I love going to her site just to see what she has done, what house she has toured and taken photos of....

6. Kelli at No Place Like Home. Kelli's home is always warm and inviting. It smells like warm bread, fresh coffee and an extra plate set just for you. The first time I saw Kelli's blog was a couple of years ago. Someone posted one of her smocking projects on the Heirloom Sewing and Smocking Forum that I belong to. She had posted a basic square yoke dress that she had made for one of the girls. And I love her Friday Show and Tell, whether I get a chance to participate or not.

Ladies, feel free to pick up your award and display them on your blog if your feel lead. And thanks so much for your inspiration and kind words. They mean a lot!

Thank you Carolyn for the award and your kind words.

Everyone, please take a moment to visit these fine ladies blogs. :-)
